Yeah, that's what I figured.... just some mace have memory soldered already on the board.

So I put the memory & pram battery in, attatched two hard drives, floppy drive and cd rom.

I got a happy mac

I set some things... resolution, date, switched off and back on without the cd in the drive... cd in drive is/was os 8.0 install disk.

The computer wouldn't start... got the chime, but it didn't seem interested in the floppy Apple os 7.1 I had in, nor in the hard drives... so 20 mins later, a bit of hard drive swapping... but at the moment..it doesn't want to start... no power, no chime!

I'm gonna give it a little breather, and then try again.
