Yep, I think I stated above that it'll be painted black to go along with the wireless KVM peripherals I'm using on the HP_Mini <-> Three Mac KVM harness from my old desk back in the Big Apple.

I've asked several times here & over at 'fritter where & HOW to upload piccies of what dimensions & filesize limitations, but haven't . . .

BTW, do you know what kind of socket the socketed DuoDock DecROMs inhabit?

It's DeclROM (as in Declaration ROM) and "I used to know these things." Josey Wales Mode> However the ole'noggin's only workin' at about half capacity right now. I'll have to find the time to take a look, I'm pretty sure I've got a DuoDock II somewhere and I'm pretty sure the MedusaDockHack is the standard DuoDock, but seeing as it's lidless, it's kinda hard to tell from memory. ISTR that it had the power pin jumper mod on a soldered down IC of some type I don't recall offhand, which makes it highly likely that it's a standard DuoDock.

On the DuoDock II, you remove the entire ROM from some strange ZIF kinda setup, so you might call that a "socket." I don't recall anything about the DeclROM in the MiniDock, but I'll bet it's soldered to the PCB one way or another, and it might even be the SAME IC/ PACKAGE Type as the original DuoDock's.

Here's the plan: the important thing is the size and format of the DeclROM in general which ISTR is in some Apple Documentation of some kind. After that it's on to determination of pin count/IC package types used on the three Dock types. From that you can get the pinout information for the various ROM packages from the mfr's sites. After you've done all that: the fun REALLY begins!

We start designing a three-way adapter to try out the three (possibly two) ROM types in the three different Dock types! Lemme know when you've done all the leg work & we'll noodle out the adapter problem, meanwhile I've got an incredible lounging area/four computer play station to finish up.
