Misusing the PMU as if it were a CUDA has a good chance of not resetting your MLB when you need to do so.
I followed this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1939

'Nothing to do with it' may not be on target if your lack is the correct firmware version for the newer G4. The DA requires 4.2.8f1. The QS in all likelihood needs 4.4.8f2, and OS 9 to install it. It's worth your investigation.
Unless Apple is being typical Apple and denying the existence of things again, the 2002 QS needs no firmware update.

The Quicksilver 2002 has 4.3.3f2 at the moment.

The Digital Audio has 4.2.8f1.

*Edit

In the event that it clears things up, I am not having problems with large drives on the internal PATA. In fact I have not even tested it yet. I was just saying that I was excited about having it at first and was now disappointed because if this SATA card does not work in the QS I have no reason to use the QS board over the DA board.

Aside from being able to use larger drives without partitioning and/or OF workarounds or extra drivers, the bare QS and DA boards have pretty much the same thing to offer me.
