Update: I have bought the SCSI-IDE adapter, and IDE-CF adapter. (actually 2 of each, my IIci will also be CF-driven). Meanwhile, I have also disassembled the SE's PSU, to find gold residue on the underside of the PCB, on pretty much all the solder joints. Took me 50 minutes to note down the capacitor's values. Looks like I've got my work cut out for me...
