Posted an Ad wanting cheap mac laptops and someone offered me a iBook G3 500 with 'some' damage. Well the screen is scratched (not cracked but scratched), the keyboard has duct tape on it and somewhat coloured, no battery, no psu, won't sleep with the lid closed, and from what I can tell the CDRW drive may not work (the area above it is quite dented and its a chore to get it in or out). Oh yeah, the metal shield covering the RAM below the Airport card is missing as well and the hinge for the screen is funky.
Oddly, It turns on and boots fine into OS9 no problem. The track pad is a bit funny though.
Not sure how someone can do this to a mac, and still have it working.
$20 CDN not bad for a working mac...the airport card is worth that alone.

I have a ton of iBook Parts. Good Conquest! I assume its the 500MHZ Version.
The iBooks are always interesting; they take beatings well enough, which is good because they're such a horror to get into.
Great score, hopefully you can get the little bugger going!

turn it into a thin mac, just make a case and order a mini vga to norm cable and go to town!
