You won't be able to get that read/write head to come back down again. I know because I accidently did the same to one of my drives. Any Auto-Inject Sony SuperDrive mechanism will fit and should work fine, though these are becoming harder and harder to find. The later Manual Inject models will not fit the IIfx case/bezel.
