Hi,

could someone please point me to a working download of the patched Apple HD SC setup that lets you format non-Apple firmware SCSI drives? Had a ball looking for but no luck yet, and I'm rubbish with ResEdit.

Put a Quantum Fireball 1GB into my SE/30 and I've love to wipe it to start again :)

Thanks

JB

Put AU/X on it. It should happily blam the disk.

Maybe not - I just want a quick and fuss-free blank HD to install System 7.1 onto :)

System 7.1 onto :)
But it's an SE/30, it's crying out for AU/X. It'll even look like 7.1.

Try this link here, which is a SIT package that contains:

-Disk First Aid

-Drive Setup

-patched HD SC Setup

-Lido

-Blue Disk Manager

However, I would use Lido instead (included in that package) because it is a much more reliable formatting tool. :)

Thank you JRL - just what I was after :)

I might try AUX one day ... but since it's been so long without a working B&W in my stable I think I'll get down to business first: Shufflepuck Cafe, Crystal Quest and CyberBlast :)

All of which will run on A/UX - the best bit! :)

I didn't know there were any SCSI Quantum Fireballs that weren't compatible with Apple's HD SC Setup. Are you sure the one you put in requires the hacked version of the app?

I'm not 100% sure it's a Fireball specifically, maybe ProDrive? Either way, no it's not detected. The HD came from a PPC 7300, IIRC.
