Heavily Upgraded PPC Color Classic on eBay!
I hope this gets a good home:

Most notably, it has the elusive Daystar PPC card for the LC 575. Pop one of those babies in a Mystic Color Classic and you get both 33mhz 040 and 66mhz 601 PPC. I believe that's as fast as you can get without hacking or slashing the innards of a Color Classic.

Is this yours? I'm amazed it's not had the 640 x 480 mod done, or has a bigger HD - everything else is there (Appledesign speakers, split keyboard, PDS PPC card!).

Is it mine? I wish it were
I don't know why the seller never upgraded the resolution. He may have wanted to keep it stock, or never wanted to risk a soldering mishap.
I do own a CC, but it's currently in shambles; everything it displays lacks the color red...

Had the same issue - resoldered the wires going to the yoke, and those going to the analog board = full colour!I do own a CC, but it's currently in shambles; everything it displays lacks the color red...
Huh, I should try that. I just assumed it was something I had done wrong when upgrading to VGA.
On another note, does anybody know of a mod that can create a new motherboard cover for a mystic CC? I think cutting up the cover for the LC575 to fit the CC would yield good results. Has anyone tried this?

Yep, cutting down the backplate from an LC575 works a treat - use the original CC backplate as a guide. You only need to drill a couple of holes to get it to mount in the existing CC case screw mounts.

If the CC has indeed been off as long as the auctioneer said it was, all the fancy upgrades were probably done expensively at a time way before all the VGA hacks were widespread on the internet and acceptable. I'm assuming that in 93-96, etc. the CCs were still too new (and thus valuable) for people to hack around with the solidering iron the way we are comfortable now. Plus, even the current VGA hack on the internet looks like it wasn't even refined until about 2004, which is likely way before all these upgrades were purchased and installed. Anyways, this is awesome and the beautiful picture reminds me I need to figure out how to hack a desktop picture onto system 7.1
