The top DuoDisk also appears to be platinum... I've only ever seen beige.
You must have the only one!Well I didn't know that the Apple IIe was available in platinum color![]()
I used to have a platinum one with my IIgs back in the day.The top DuoDisk also appears to be platinum... I've only ever seen beige.
This must have been a European model. The keyboard is a giveaway, plus I've never seen this in the States. For those of you living in Europe--were they limited to specific markets?
And it's not a duo, just an Apple 5.25"I used to have a platinum one with my IIgs back in the day.The top DuoDisk also appears to be platinum... I've only ever seen beige.
The 5.25" drives were available in both colors. The earlier beige model was called UniDisk 5.25" and the later platinum variety the Apple 5.25" Drive. There are slight internal differences between the two models but both serve the same basic purpose when connected to the IIe.
The DuoDisk was a unit with two 5.25" drives next to each other. It was as wide as a IIe and was designed to sit between the IIe and a monitor.
