just didn't know if there was a good Apple monitor from the mid-90's...

Oh sure, there are some good monitors. Really, anything *EXCEPT* the MS 15" is good.

and it's been working fine since those first few hours of non-red, so I don't get it. Temperamental.

Only a matter of time before it kicks off for good. :-/
