SCSI harddrive for my LC III?

SCSI harddrive for my LC III? Hardware 29 posts Sep 24, 2009 — Oct 9, 2009
My LC III's harddrive is waaay too small, so could anyone point me to an ebay auction for a compatible scsi hard drive? i can't seem to get any results.

Search for "SCSI hard drive"

Anything with a 50 pin connector will work.

It has a 50 pin connector, so I don't see why not.

I meant "is this a *reliable* drive, or unreliable like the prodrives?"

It looks like a full-height drive. I believe your LC will accept only half-height drives. Also, it's a micropolis, which means it's (a) old, ( B) probably very noisy, and © probably very unreliable.

OK, could someone point me to a SCSI zip drive then? i still have a zip100 disk or two...

Hard drives:

IBM SCSI HD

Seagate Hawk 2 GB

x2 Seagate Hawk 2.1 GB

or you can buy a cheaper large 68 pin HD (which are much easier to find cheap than native 50-pin hard drives) (example) and use a converter (example) with it.

For Zip drives, this one is nice.

If you can though, try to find a Zip 100 Plus, as they are compatible with both PC parallel ports and Mac SCSI ports.

um... zoom waaay in on the pic, its a paralell drive

I think i'll probebly get that 68pin and adaptor.

I'll try to get the one w/ 22 disks. the cool thing bout Zip disks is i have a usb drive already.

...and why would you waant 100 disks? is 22+the 1 i have not enough?!

That lot of two Hawks is a good deal.
Yesterday I've got Hawk for the bottle of beer it was better deal...

The power supply in the LC III might be too tiny to support such a high-capacity drive.

And that threw me off when you deleted your post.

I've been running a 9.1 GB 50-pin SCSI Seagate in my LC 475 for quite a while now, and it's been fine.

Would this one work w/ a 68-50 adaptor?

#1 won't work, because I think you can't run an Ultra-320 drive on the LC's PSU. (power constraints, etc.)

#2 is too big to fit.

#2 is too big to fit.
Whats the bigest that'll fit?

oh, and why wont #2 fit? its a 1/3 hight and the lc3 can take up to 1/2 hight, right?

...and i just measured and my lciii's is 1''x~4''x~6''

Whoops, sorry. I mistook it for a full-height drive in some pics.

1/3rd height is the maximum height that will fit though.

What is the price?

24.95+8.50 shipping, but if you can find a better deal on a compatible drive/adaptor if needed for $40 or less, let me know!

Ew, not worth it.

Let me dig up some cheaper drives.

yeah...im about the worst ebay-searcher ever.

I hate eBay's search. It has a wierd syntax
