Power Book g3, (The one that wont run X) Peripherals 4 posts Sep 27, 2009 — Sep 29, 2009
I know this PB wont run X,

But at the moment it's running mac os 9.2 Cad French

I am trying to find the owner of the computer as i found it in a recyling bin in my town, the computer is missing the screen... Well its not even atached to the computer but its next to me. It has no power adaptor, but I am using the one i have from my power book 2300c, Where do i find the email adrees in outlook.

Like the one that send's the emails,

Also How would I install a new system on this mac as I do not have the dvd\cd drive only a floppy drive and a bat. The bat is crap tho as it will not keep a charge, but that may be from my power plug as it may not be giving much power

Also what would I have to do to make this a desktop computer? I have a vga screen and a adb mouse and keybord, but like hard ware wise?

:scrambled:

You could return it to the bin, after appropriate rendition of "The Last Post".

Does it have an external SCSI connector, and do you have an external SCSI CD-ROM and appropriate connector?

If they left it in a recycling bin, they most likely don't want it back, so you should keep it.

Nice find!

Anyways, if you have the appropriate adapter, you can use an external SCSI CD-ROM to install a system.

Just a Powerbook monitor adapter and a Mac->VGA monitor adapter. If the keyboard and trackpad on the Powerbook work, you wouldn't even need the external KB/mouse. An external SCSI CD drive is a good idea, unless you manage to find the internal one. And optionally I suppose a pair of decent desktop speakers would be nice.
