Got a phone call from my Sister this afternoon, and when I was done talking to her, I talked to her other half, and he said he had a wheelie bin worth of computer cables left in his booth at work, many still in original packaging. Was I interested?

Was I interested?!

HELL YES!!

You never know when you might need a cable.

Now, where can I hide them?…

I'll be getting them tomorrow afternoon.

I bet most of them will be power cables or parallel cables...but if there's anything particularly desirable in there...hard to find/expensive cables or adaptors or whatever...nice find.

"You can never have too many power cables."

Might have been me, don't remember.

However, I'm going to try and prove them wrong.

But stuff still bagged, small bragging rights.

Why did I say wheelie bin?

Because that's what HE said.

Turned out to be a large tub, about three quarters full.

I'm kind of glad in a way, because, I wouldn't have had the space to store that quantity of cables.

Here's a rough breakdown…

About half a dozen parallel printer cables.

Extension cables for 9-pin serial, and a couple for those big old DIN keyboard connectors.

Various gender benders.

Some phone cabling and connectors.

A good lot of coax ethernet cabling.

a 56K MODEM.

a strange beige metal box with nine 25-pin sockets on it, 8 female, 1 male.

a very strange looking video cable. (Still bagged, too.)

Not quite the haul I expected, but, better it went to me than the local tip.

Anyone in my area need anything?

Does it have a rotating switch thing on the front?

If so that's probably a printer switcher(plug it into a printer, and up to 8 computers, and switch the switch to whatever computer you want to print from.)

I could use the mac serial cable to connect to my printer, but I'm nowhere near Australia. I'll bet the have a bunch of serials on eBay. Nice find!
