It turned out be a flaky floppy drive. I got it fixed and now I am running DOS 6.22, Windows for Workgroup 3.11 and Windows 95 all on the Peforma, side by side with System 7.6.1
That Intel 486 DX 2 processor is awesome. And Windows 95 kicks ass.
By the way, it had nothing to do with partition size, as you are only allowed to create a virtual drive file no larger than 1 gig, as dictated by "PC Set Up" in Control Panel. And you install DOS/Windows onto that vhd file.
