Macintosh Portable Prototype (clear acrylic case!) [JPG]
GREAT TOPIC! [
] ]'>
I've been snagging all the clear ProtoMacPics™ I could get my grubby lil' cursor on for many years! [}
] ]'>
I'll dig 'em out and post them to go along with the ones I just snagged from your treasure trove! [
] ]'>
I'll edit them into this post to keep them all in the first few responses. If anyone else has any pics to add, I'll be glad to "mod" them into the spaces I just reserved on this first page no matter when they're posted.
Maybe we should start an entire series of clear & "smooth" ProtoMacPic™ threads? :?:
If no additional PicPosts are forthcoming, I'll eventually delete the dummy posts.

Here are my ClearProtoMacPortablePic™ contributions . . . :scrambled:

Here's a .jpg version of the Mac Portable Exploded View:
cribbed from the DevNote.pdf via Illustrator 9 . . . :rambo:

Here are some Portable Main Logic Board piccies.
Firts it a primitive shot of my Luggable's MoBo:

IIRC, this was a comparison between the first Non Backlit Rev & the Backlit Rev Luggable's MLBs:

Lastly, an auction shot of a RAM Expansion Card:

I'll dig out some more to post later. IIRC I snagged some from the gallery link in the "Italian Group" thread.
OK, gang, let's see what you've got! [}

Here're a few more pictures, this one is of a prototype MacPro that was also sold on eBay. It has a bunch of diagnostic LEDs on the motherboard for the various components. They flash different colors depending on what they're doing, with identifiers written on the PCBs next to the LEDs. I originally posted it on MacNN, and the actual owner posted some additional interesting information on the unit:

OK, guys, nice posts, but let's get with the program! THIS THREAD is for Mac Portable piccies/info, especially pic of clear ProtoLuggables! Let's post OTHER Topics covering whichever ProtoMacs of which we've got pics to post!
Meanwhile, I've been procrastinating about posting the Pics of my "Eleanor" that I've saved over the years.
Coming soon: The "Mustang" ProtoPB thread! [

If you guys don't mind, I'll "mod" your posts into new topics for other comrades to add any pics that they've gleaned from the web to go along with the ones you've posted. Considering the ephemeral nature of PicLinks, it'll behoove any interested comrades to snag ALL available piccies for multiple Off-Forum BackUp! [

Oooh, didn't know that. Still, transparent green and pink plastic would've been cool. Very 90s.All original LCs have two floppy drive slots. I know this because I have one. The Mac Portable prototype is up for auction again, it didn't meet reserve last time (why bother with a reserve? Just set it to what you want to sell it for.) (11/25/09)
