I have no idea what I'm doing, and only minimal familiarity with the Mac, so please bear with me.
I have a Performa 636CD (same as LC 630, or Quadra 630 with nerfed CPU), and someone sent me an Asanté "Desktop EN-SC" brick to get connected to my router. Cable I'm using I used previously without issue on an IBM 5160 hooked up in the same location.
As I don't know if any specific issue is a manifestation of my problem, I won't make any assumptions, but I'm not able to establish a connection to my router, let alone run any Internet software right now.
