External CD-ROM drive on Color Classic?
Where can I get a tray loading External CD-ROM Drive SCSI 25pin for my Color Classic?
I got the Applecd 300 SCSI 50 pin CD-ROM Drive, but it has no caddy! Is there caddys online for this? I don't want to damage my new 7.6.1 CD with it.
I really rather just get an external SCSI CD-ROM Drive with a tray for it though.
Any help would be appreciated thanks.

That is exactly what you need.
Also, do *NOT* attempt to put a disc in there without a caddy. These drives require a caddy. Period.
Where are you located? If you happen to be close enough to Portland, Oregon, to pick up locally, I'll give you one free. (Just found six of them in a box.)
I'm located in Rhode Island. If you can take pics and are willing to ship out, I might be interested.
I never used a CD-ROM drive like this, I had to order a 50pin SCSI cord for it on Amazon and a 50pin-25pin adapter. If it all works once I get the caddy and cords, I might start to like it.

I need a 50 to 25pin adapter for the cord to plug it into my Macintosh Color Classic. I ordered one and got it today but its a tiny 50pin on the adapter and not the large wide 50 pin one like on the CD drive. Where can I get the correct adapter?

that poped up on google, but the key word is Centronics, which is who designed that type of connector back in the day
*personal annoyance* That seems to be my history with scsi, no matter how much junk i have / had, whenever i get something new i never have the correct cable for it, for example, just got some 2gig hard drives, and after 20 years of using scsi stuff guess what ,... SCA80 connectors (!@#*$@*#!)
the adapter is in the mail so i can test and format them before popping them in the trading post... sigh :

Yeah I did some research shortly after I posted the question. You are correct it's a Centronics. I found the adapter here.

make sure, that fits onto a cable to change it (which is fine if you have a 50 pin <-> 50 pin centroncis cable)
Yep, I got the Centronics cable, it plugged right into the back of the CD-ROM Drive.
Thanks for the reminder.
