I tried installing Apple's USB Adapter card support 1.3.5 but it would not go because, i think, my OS is 9.1.

Then I installed Apple's USB Adapter card support 1.4.1 . However , nothing. I tried a 128 MB, and two different 4 G flash drives, a USB mouse and nothing. I then plugged in a powered USB nothing.

I tried removing and re-inserting the Belkin card: still no luck.

I made sure that Conflict Catcher version 9 had all the USB extensions on at start up.

If you could email the extension you have to wsheluk at shaw dot ca that would be just great.

My 8500 is web savy and it does have a floppy drive. More then often i burn to CD the stuff i want to install in my Performa6360. The Performa also has a burner via scsi.

I have a few applications that I use to determine or test if scsi devices are working. In fact one application can install a scsi drive for CD or hard drives connected via scsi. I was wondering if there is a similar software that can read the activity of a USB device or show that it is firing.

Thanks again for your offer to help me.
