"Reasonable nick" = reasonable condition for a three year old machine.

That stick of PC-2700 arrived in the post today and the RAM transplant was done. Having the 1.25GB of RAM in the 12" PowerBook makes one heck of a difference in MacOS X.4.11 over running it on the stock 512MB. The iBook, for its part, doesn't seem at all put out by its reduction to 1GB.

So a happy ending for both units.
