First thought: mosey over to cubeowner.com and browse the video card forum. Second, that's the way a GPU that's been running hot seems to die. Unless you had a fan on that 7500, it's probably toast. Thirdly, a flashed GeForce 6200 is pretty cheap and about as good as anything that will run without extreme mods in a cube. Fourth, for most uses, a 500 dual G4 isn't much faster than a single - better to get a fast single than a slower dual G4. Duals do offer bragging rights. Anything you do to a cube pretty much requires adding a base fan, but run at 7V or 5V, it will be quieter than the HD. Even the 6200 benefits from a fan + heat sink, as it gets quite toasty under heavy load such as the Flurry screen saver.
