I've used a steel ruler to slide into a slot and then firmly push it up to slide up the tab, you need to remove the battery to take the top and bottom half of the casing apart.

Hopefully the battery hasn't leaked, once you do get it out you could put some silicone spray on the sliding mechanism to make it go in and out a lot smoother.
