Well, I tore open the external floppy disk tonight and got the mechanism unstuck by using small dabs of WD-40. I have to hold the eject button open to insert/eject disks, but at least it's reading them. I'll tear open the Mac itself and pull out its disk drive and see what I can do. Need to get it lubed enough where the auto eject will work.
