with enough ram and a slightly larger hdd, tiger should run fine. i run it on my "school" computer, a pismo 500mhz g3, w/ 1 gb of ram, and i can even run iwork 08 on it. also same as you, i have the exact same macbook, and i leave that at home b/c i'd rather risk my $75 powerbook that i can fix w/ parts i already have, then my macbook i'm screwed if i break
