iMac G3 PSU Pinout

Hello,

I got the guts to a G3 iMac here, i thin its 400 or 450mhz. I'm going to re-purpose is as a StepMania machine for my GF. There are some labels on the pin-outs on there but not enough, i would like to use an ATX PSU on it, or put the AC right into it (the power supply). For the later method there is an AC+ and AC-, which makes no sense as it is AC, but i would assume +is hot and - is neutral. Anyone else try this?

The pinout is listed in most iMac -> ATX/othercase conversion articles. There are a few around, as bunsen would say, search.(but using google instead of this forum's search function)

IIRC the pinouts for the SL and TL are different so since you have a SL just make sure you find information about the SL.

SL and TL are different

ie: "Slot loading" and "Tray loading" iMacs - referring to the CD/DVD drive at the front. The two series had completely different internal hardware, and a hack guide for a tray loader will not work for a slot loader, and vice versa.

But some one didn't follow any standards in its design.

OK then, if you know your way around mains safety, then using the existing PSU is probably going to be easiest.
