So, i'm the focus of the hate of many a Mac collector today. I just picked up my third iMac G4 as a token of appreciation for contributions to a local Apple reseller. Hopefully i'll get a job with them next week.

Anyway, the iMac.

iMac G4 (First Generation codename "Tessera")

700MHz G4

768MB RAM

40GB HDD

CD-RW Drive

15" Screen

Dual Booting Mac OS 9.2 and 10.4.11

Very Good Condition

This is the only iMac G4 I have that is capable of booting directly into Mac OS 9, and so it will probably be used for that. I hope to install Mac OS X Jaguar 10.2 alongside, mainly because it's the factory shipping OS for these models and doesn't look at all out of place on it.

The machine is in very good condition overall. No scratches or scrapes along the plastics. The logic board, power supply, hard disk, optical drive and display all work exactly as they should. The case needs a bit of a clean (probably clean the internals while i'm at it, and change the thermal compound). The neck assembly holds its height and position well, is firmly attached into the base and while it does have some tilt in the display, it's nothing some adjustments won't take care of.

Although I was able to boot this machine up with the iMac G4 speakers attached (which sound quite good, for what it's worth), I didn't get to take those speakers since the reseller intends to keep them with their 800MHz G4.

At this stage, my plans consist of rebuilding the 700MHz iMac to showroom condition and keeping it for myself. The 1GHz iMac G4 will probably go to my brother, who currently uses a 733MHz QuickSilver and could use an upgrade (considering the iMac has a better chip, better graphics, better RAM, faster bus and an LCD screen). The 800MHz iMac G4 will probably be sold. I love iMac G4s, but it's good to share the love around as well.
