Meh, not that great a trade...I don't know anything about Gateways (Gateway shut up their operations here back in 2000) but that laptop seems pretty decent, it'd run Windows 7 and most stuff that most people use fairly well, whereas the iMac G5 is an older machine that is no longer supported under the latest version of Mac OS X.
