Matching 30-pin simms
How "matched" do 30-pin SIMMS need to be? Is it enough that they be the same size and not less than the specified speed for the machine in question (but not necessarily the same speed), do they need to be the same size and speed (as well as the proper speed rating for the machine), or do they need to be identical chips from the same manufacturer?
I ask because I have three 30-pin 16MB SIMMS and, for obvious reasons, want to go looking for a fourth.

your best luck would be to have identical sims
realistically they should be the same spec, and machine speed should not matter because the speed rating of electronics signify that it will work up to X speed
while the second option is much more viable, its a bigger gamble due to the closed nature of Macintosh hardware and finickiness (ie they were not forced to deal with a million and 1 screwball loose specs like pc clones)

Same chips and layout I would think. I guess if they were the same spec and size they should run, but tracking down issues would be a pain if they didn't work 100%.
