To be more precise, they embedded it into the F108 IC which was also used in the PDS Power Macs too. And if you think that is bad enough, even the 68040 and NuBus PowerPC PowerBooks uses the 85C80 combo chip with it's 53C80 SCSI controller which does not support SCSI Manager 4.3! This also means that the old SCSI Manager has to run in emulation, which reduces performance further.
