LC520 logic board upgrade for Color Classic
This is just to report that an LC520 logic board makes a very nice upgrade for a Color Classic: 25MHz 68030 with 32-bit bus at 25MHz 'ain't bad at all in a compact Mac. You get faster RAM (and with 32MB 72-pin SIMMs being readily available, lots of it) as well.
One of the best parts, arguably, is that CC's video system is also recognized (under System 7.5 at least - I haven't tested further) without any hacks.
Later in the week, I am trying my hand at an eBay auction of an upgrade "kit" using one of these logic boards. We'll see how that goes, but the important point for our purposes is that the logic board works just fine in a CC.
So that's one more solid upgrade option confirmed.

That's pretty common knowledge, but thanks for the update. Check out the Colour Classic FAQ, which warns that there may be some installer problems, but otherwise functions perfectly.
