Now, how do I download it properly? I just get a page full of binhex text. I assume Safari is having issues with this kind of file. Maybe I need to download it on an OS 9 machine using IE or Netscape?

When that happens it usually means that you've simply clicked on the download link. Instead of doing a simple click either right click, or cmd-click, or click and hold (depends on your browser) until a pull down menu appears. Then select "Save link target to" or "Copy link target to" or something similar to that. Which will save all that hex gobbledegoop as a file the way it ought to in the first place.
