Went down to vancouver and picked up a Cisco 2611 and Sonicwall Pro firewall for 40 bucks. Neat stuff to play around with, not much practical use in my house
Nice. I have a 2611XM. It is a good router. I use it as my main router. I picked up a crypto card and I set up a IPsec VPN.
The nice part is that they are old enough that you can pick the upgrades up for a song. I think I paid about $15 for the crypto card. If you have the right firmware I believe you can do the crypto in software.

I might try seeing if I can bridge the interfaces.. seen it done in some examples. I have no use for it as a router but if I can just pass traffic through and apply some rules, might be worth tinkering with.
Nice little score there.
I've installed many a Cisco device for clients over the years and I find IOS to be...interesting. Synchronizing clock signals across interfaces...mmm fun times there.
The Sonic firewall is a nice piece of kit though, maybe a tad outdated but still nice.
Enjoy.

Yeah outdated but can still run a decent amount of traffic.
Another rack score today but for my audio needs. Behringer DSP1224P. Tomorrow picking up a vocal harmonizer and orchestral synth soundbank. Woot
