Thanks Elfen for the info.  I just happened to have a plastic pouch with an assortment of plastic sticks from back when I restored a few vintage Marantz amps.  I took the shell off the monitor and sure enough there were some internal pots that adjusted what I needed.  Strange as there was no way to access them from the outside of the monitor. 

Anyway I am in business.  Thanks so much for all your input..
