to do something with this G3 Desktop.
I am not sure what I want to do with it, but I want to do something server-ish, and want to run it under at minimum 8.1. This is the config:
PM Beige G3 DT-formfactor
400Mhz G3 w/ 1MB L2 Cache @ 66Mhz FSB
768MB PC-100 RAM (66Mhz Maxed RAM)
2MB VRAM (not sprung for the upgrade card yet)
Whisper personality card (no video, just audio)
36GB 15K RPM Seagate Cheetah Ultra-160 SCSI / 40GB ATA-33 HDD on 16Mbit/s bus
Adaptec 32-bit/33Mhz SCSI PCI Card, connected to the HDD.
SCSI DVD-RAM drive (slot/cartridge/disc load, weird funky thing)
D-Link DFE-530TX+ PCI Ethernet card
While it may be semi-maxed, I was thinking something like a BBS, FTP, or Gopher server. I would like to hear some suggestions as to what kind of project I can put this on. It would rock as a BBS/Forum server, or something. Maybe something like an audio streaming server too (maybe local radio channel?)
