I am lucky enough to have an LC 575 that was kept, more or less, in an excellent environment, leaving it in very good condition :sleepy: . It's not even yellowed that much.

The (SMT) caps on the logic board are visually fine - no rust, gunk, or dried puddles of electrolytic surrounding them. The LC has no issues, short of failing to boot when a SCSI drive is plugged in when turned off (termination issue, probably), it is old. Can I expect the caps to just start exploding in a year or two? I ask because I happen to be pretty decent at soldering now (since getting a soldering set for Christmas), and I reason that it would be better to preempt electrolytic rot and destruction.

Also, in what environment is best for Mac storage? I live by the sea so things tend to be damp around here - should I be concerned?
