If an Apple Trinitron monitor, it probably has a fixed resolution - something like a plan VGA or LCD VGA monitor might allow you to lower the resolution - but I wouldn't bet it goes below 640 x 480.

You might also want to install the Rasterops drivers for the card, which aren't usually necessary but might provide additional resolutions to select, and minor graphical speed ups.
