If you're using software designed for compact Mac screens, I recommend purchasing one of the Apple 12" RGB monitors. These monitors were often sold with LCs and some techs continue to call them "LC monitors". It doesn't work with every video card--not sure about the RasterOps, but you can check Apple's cards here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TA46615?viewlocale=en_US

This monitor displays a 512 x 384 resolution, not too far off from the 512 x 342 of the compacts, and programs such as Shufflepuck will fit very nicely--you won't really notice much of a difference from the compacts vertically, and there's no difference horizontally.
