Thread IRC Client help? 68kMLA OS 9 8 posts Feb 14, 2011 to Feb 19, 2011 View original thread ↗ #1 Mon, 14 Feb 2011 - 23:42 68kMLA I am in need of an OS8/9 IRC client - can anyone point me in the right direction? What does everyone use? Thanks in advance for the help. #2 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 - 00:17 68kMLA Ircle http://www.ircle.com/ #3 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 - 00:45 68kMLA Thanks! Is this the "be-all-end all" or are there other choices? #4 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 - 03:25 68kMLA There is Snak and MacIRC. The former has a 30 min timer but the latter is free. #5 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 - 04:03 68kMLA WaMCom and Classilla 9.0/9.0.4 both have ChatZilla. However, I would use it as a last resort since it has known security vulnerabilities. I disabled it in 9.1 and up for that reason. #6 Tue, 15 Feb 2011 - 23:07 68kMLA Thanks for the help guys. I will try them all out I guess... might avoid Chatzilla though. See you on IRC I guess. #7 Wed, 16 Feb 2011 - 08:32 68kMLA i mostly use ircle on Pre X Macs http://www.ircle.com #8 Sat, 19 Feb 2011 - 13:16 68kMLA MacIRC is super basic, but works okay. ircle is feature rich, and an OS 9 license will carry over to X. So it comes down to whether you're a power chatter or not.
