512k and 512ke query

Maybe others have noticed this,

but it seems on a 512ke, 128k ROMs system that under the Apple menu - "About the Finder"

it puts a period after the 512k.

whereas on an original 512k system with 64kb ROMs it is simply 512k

has anyone else noticed this before?

It is not a difference that I previously knew. However Apple used some very subtle techniques to identify things in those days. The icons for MFS and HFS floppy disks were slightly different. I can't be bothered to dig out the documentation at this moment, so I'll leave it to others to suggest how.

Check the pixel in the upper-left of the window corner.
