Back to the point of this thread: does anybody know if a Quadra 700/IIci PSU will mate up with the IIsi MoBo for testing purposes? I'm assuming that I'll need to take the IIsi MoBo out of its case due to the height of the side.

Yes. I've used a IIsi power supply to test IIci, Q700, PM7100 logic boards before. Out of the case is necessary as you surmised.
