IREZ Capsure is the name of the PCMCIA card, but it does do "capture"!
PAL (Pretty Awesome Luminance?) is the way to go for us folks downunder
Audio is c a p t u r e d via a Y-shape to 3.5 stereo miniplug.
I picked it up off ebay for AU$20 including shipping from the UK.

Yep, pismo is running 9.2.2, has 768mb RAM and 80GB HDD.
The capture software can be any that utilizes quicktime.
In this instance Avid VideoShop 3.0.2 which is adequate for simple recording.
I used the component codec to capture, but in the re-encode stage on the imac its taking its time.
I might try no compression and see if I get better results. Its a 500GB drive so should have enough space.
I did have some trouble initially getting setting the preferences for the scratch disk to the firewire drive.
In the end I just copied VideoShop to the external drive and problem solved.
How is the EyeTV? Is it USB? PCMCIA? or FireWire?
