The Apple extension does allow me to read DVDs in the Apple DVD burner. I have the Toast extension on one HD and it allows me to burn DVDs with Toast. I can do everything with it except watch DVD movies in OS9.

I do have an Apple DVD-ROM drive. Tried it and the software doesn't work any better with it.

Maybe if I have time this weekend, I'll either try a DVD drive with an ide/SCSI adapter. Or try all this on a 8500 or 7600 in case it's a hardware problem
