Its missing a video card, can I just use a radeon 7000 I got laying around in it #2 Tue, 3 May 2011 - 21:39 68kMLA Should work, but it seems sad to waste a G5 on that level of card. #3 Tue, 3 May 2011 - 23:36 68kMLA Just temporary until I can find the right one #4 Wed, 4 May 2011 - 18:58 68kMLA IIRC, the G5 Powermac can use a PCI card as an additional video card but not as a primary video card. Look at flashing a PC Radeon 9800 Pro or Nvidia FX5200, FX5500 or FX6200. You should be able to find one under $40. #5 Wed, 4 May 2011 - 21:08 68kMLA It looks like the AGP Slot is different then Most radeon 9800s I have, I also have a radeon 9000 sitting here too. #6 Wed, 4 May 2011 - 23:06 68kMLA The AGP 8X slots are different then the early AGP 1x/2x ones or ones designed for 4x/8x (different voltages so they changed the AGP slot key to keep things from blowing up). Radeon 7000 is so old its probably 1x/2x only.
