One WGS to Serve Them All
A WGS 95 wandered my way. Now my 950 has a friend.
It has no cards in it (notably the special WGS 95 card) but I rectified the situation with an ATTO card and five 9gb Ultra SCSI drives. I'll probably put Appleshare IP on it along with 7.6.
It's a pity that there are no ADB KVM switches. I don't have enough deskspace to run both systems without swapping cables around when I want to use something.

There are ADB KVM switches, but they are harder to find each passing year. I have a 12 or 16 port one made by BlackBox, and a 4 port one made by Dr.Bott.
The PDS SCSI card comes on ebay a few times a year so keep an eye out for it. Luckily you do have the 5 drive tray, that is harder to find then the PDS card.

68Ks can run ASIP?
I was under the impression that the last version of AppleShare that supported 68k ('040) was AppleShare 4.0.2, which isn't IP.
Correct me if I'm wrong!

Yeah, I got one of those 16-port ServeView KVM's as well that are compatible with PC, mac, sun, SGI, etc. Really cool but alas, totally useless without the cables and pure insanity to make my own cables.
I'll have to double check as well about what IP 5 supports. I think it needs a 601 at least and if so I just need to track down another PowerPC card. Otherwise I have an ancient version (2 or 3) I can try.

If another one walks in, can you send it my way? Just tell it to get its skates on like a Banana Jr 6000.
Will a 950 do?
There's a fairly complete one sitting in our storefront. just needs ram, scsi, and power cables.

A missing power cord would be no hassle as they are relatively easy to procure, but...
Is it missing its RAM and SCSI disk, or its RAM and SCSI cable?

. . . and one Admin to bind them?

NICE Score! Great renovation/upgrade job so far! :approve:
A 950/95 base pair, an 840av/8100 mid level pair and a pair or two of IIcx/IIci/Q700 boxen would be a great start! Couple that assortment with 2-3 thick, cable hiding, torsion box construction (Super Heavy Duty!) shelves (do my MiniQuadraFeetsMac™ mod or use overly thick feets-pliques) and you've got a multi level, multi depth MacFurniture™ display unit! [
] ]'> All the columns would be fully functional and the shelves will hold a large percentage of any sane Mac Collector's toys!

Just looked it up, BlackBox sw939a 12 port and it uses off the shelf Apple video cables and one ADB per connection.
You can even use jumpers to set whatever video resolution you want on each connection (perfect for viewing one machine and booting another).

I would love to get a Quadra 950, but I'm afraid the shipping would kill me.
I have a 4 port Mac switch box, but it suffers from the classic problem of the ADB mouse becoming slow.
By the way, I'm officially jealous of your score. I've been scouring Craigslist non stop for the past few months.

Keep a copy of ADB ReSet on your KVM'd Macs and an alias of it on the desktop so you can select and run it from the KBD with the mouse deader-n-a-doornail! [

That'll get your mouse up to speed pronto!

Google search failed me. Do you have a link to ADB Reset?
No ram and no SCSI disk though we could sell you a 2gb drive for a fair price or even an SCA drive so you can then get an SCA adapter and then go all out. }
