nothing is "broken" per se, but the superdrive on my G5 tower always opens right after the chime. haven't found a way to fix it. it's kinda annoying when i want to boot from the superdrive, having to go into open firmware and all. is this a known issue?
Check your PRAM battery, unplug any third-party USB devices, see if a firmware update exists for the drive
Mouse button stuck down?
Thanks guys, it ended up being the fault of a third-party keyboard. I plugged in my old Bondi Blue iMac keyboard and all was well.
Late to the party, but I have found this to happen with many third party keyboards on G4s and G5s (the only ones i've tested so far). At least it's resolved now.
