Do you have any RAM SIMMs installed?
If not, never mind, but if you do, take them out and try booting with just the MoBo's 1 MB of soldered in RAM ICs to see if it just might be memory related.
It's just a hunch, but since the IIsi inherited such a horrilbe System RAM based Video Kluge from the IIci, you never know what might be going wrong!
Which OS are you booting, BTW? Use a RAM test utility, that's OS appropriate, to beat the snot outta' that measly stock 1 MB of Memory to see if you get any errors.
