Silicon senescence? I like where this discussion is heading! :p

I tried to install my external hard disk in my SE/30; still no luck, but this might be because of the jumper settings.

Help with deciphering this ascii diagram would be much appreciated: http://stason.org/TULARC/pc/hard-drives-hdd/conner/CFP-1080S-1080MB-3-5-SL-SCSI2-FAST.html - as I understand it, S1-S3 should be without jumpers for ID 0. Right?
