In between teaching, two tutoring sessions, and a meeting, I had a break and no other errands to run. I decided I'd check out the newly-opened thrift store in my area during my time off just to see if they had any interesting computing items. The only hardware they had was an off-brand PS/2 port mouse (they didn't even have any inkjet printers, which are usually plentiful at any thrift shop, and only had one VCR, a low-end mono Sylvania from probably about ten years ago).

In with the music CDs was the original Amazon Trail. For $2, it was worth it!

The secondhand bookstore up the road was just as rewarding. They didn't have anything in their software section, but I quickly checked the math section and found a college Calc text for $8. It wasn't one I already had sitting around, so I decided to pick it up, figuring it may come in handy for tutoring down the road. This was probably a $150-$200 book when new. It didn't have a CD accompanying it, which some Calc texts do, but it looked pretty decent when I was leafing through it.

Not a bad day in the conquest field. No Apple I or spare copy of Fraction Munchers, but good finds nonetheless.
