It must the colour that makes them valuable. Spec-wise, a Pismo would eat a clamshell's lunch and then take its lunch money for the next day. But they are much cuter than a Pismo, even considering how stylish a Pismo is.

It must be... I've got a Tangerine one in my eBay watch list at the moment (300mhz, 576mb RAM, 40gb disk, working battery). Admittedly, it is a very maxed out system, but it is over $200 with almost a full day left in the auction. At that price, you're out of Pismo range and through a good chunk of the PowerBook g4 range. (Heck, you could probably touch an early Intel Mini for that much money.)
