Well, the Color Classic is refusing to power on.

Inspected the logic board, caps look okay. Replaced PRAM battery, no difference. The PS makes a slight whine when powered on, so I think the PS is okay. Any ideas before I swap out the logic board (and is anyone selling one)?

Just to be sure... you turned on both the switch at the rear and the power button on keyboard, didn't you?

Yup.

Did you leave it plugged in overnight and try powering it on? For whatever reason, it often works on CCs that have been sitting unplugged for a while.

Ditto. It used to be a standard piece of advice from EQuill also.

Well, couldn't hurt :) I'll report back tomorrow.

Still dead. Any other suggestions to try?

The logic board might be slightly out of alignment. Try re-inserting?

I have had this trouble with an LC575 for sure.

Me too. I forgot to flip the power switch and it startled me when it bonged as I slid the logic board in.

What happens when you pull out the logic board and flip the switch on the back to the "on" position?

It should power on then, fan + HD should start spinning. Just to be sure its not your AB.

Good suggestions. I should have thought about a loose logic board; that bit me several times on the ANS 500. I'll try this when I get home.

No, analogue board tests fine. It's definitely the logic board.

Fortunately, someone was selling a Mystic upgrade with a custom back on eBay, so I figure I'll pick it up (he's local to me, so I can go "persuade" him to give me a refund if it's DOA }:) ). And it has the video mod onboard, so I guess it's as good a time for an upgrade as any.

So the logic board came, and she fires right up, so it was the logic board. I'll debug it later. Now to get the right Enabler on the hard disk, since I love 7.1.

Capacitors, capacitors, capacitors, capacitors ... (I feel like Ballmer).

Yep, capacitors.

ALL my CC's have the same problem (all FOUR).

I replaced the caps very carefully on one board as they were all visibly leaking. Still doesn't work though...
