Somewhere in there - possibly in the DOS archive - you will find a program that turns your PC into a sampler and just a sampler. There's also an OS 9 archive.
Personally, I would suggest sticking to OS 9 on the B&W, unless you have a G4 CPU and maxed out RAM; even then, OS 9 is likely to offer better performance. Though OS X is in general more stable, carefully configuring your boot configuration and software can eliminate most crashes under OS 9.
I would also recommend having a look at PureMac's listings, as they describe and link to commercial software as well as shareware. Ditto OldVersion.com.
